Ghana’s ambassador to Denmark visits the Danish queen

The Ghana Ambassador to Denmark, Her Excellency Mrs. Amerley Ollennu Awua-Asamoa presented her letters of credence in a simplified ceremony to the Queen of the Royal Kingdom of Denmark, Her Majesty Queen Maragarette II on Friday 15th September 2017 at the Amalienborg Royal Palace in Copenhagen.

The simplified audience or ceremony is normally observed when it is desirable that an ambassador takes up his/her official functions without delay. The preceding accelerated arrangements took place to allow for the efficient, co-ordinated response by both Denmark and Ghana to the projected official visit to Ghana by Her Majesty Queen Magaratte ll later in November 2017.

The ceremony involved the elegant as well as the colourful official escort of Her Excellency and her spouse by the Protocol Department of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Amalienborg Palace where they were received by the Master of Ceremonies inside the gate to the Palace. They were then ushered to the first floor and warmly received by the Lord Chamberlain of the royal court in the person of Michael Ehrenreich who subsequently announced the arrival of H.E the Ambassador to the Queen in the traditionally known “Yellow room” and later led her Excellency to present her credentials.

This was followed by an invitation to Her Excellency and spouse to join the queen in the Yellow room for a private chat. The conversation centred on the impending state visit by the Queen to Ghana. They were both optimistic that the visit would further strengthen the already cordial relations existing between the two countries in terms of opportunities that could blaze the trail of mutually beneficial political and socio-economic benefits for Denmark and Ghana.

Her excellency further assured Her Highness that all arrangements were being made to make the visit most successful and memorable.
