Ghana Mission in Denmark to initiate mobile consular services

The Ghana Mission in Denmark led by H.E Mrs. Amerley Ollennu Awua-Asamoa, Ghana’s Ambassador to the Nordic countries, has revealed its plans to begin a mobile consular services in various Ghanaian communities in the region.

The news was revealed when the executives of the Ghana unions in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö, all in Sweden, paid a courtesy visit to the Ghana embassy to congratulate and welcome Awua-Asamoa on her appointment as the ambassador to the Nordic states.

Elaborating on how the mobile services will work, Priscilla Ankomah, the consular at the Ghana Mission in Denmark, said the embassy plans to visit various cities to have interaction with Ghanaians, and in addition provide them with services like issuing of passports, visas, among others, in any city the Mission visits.

According to Ankomah, the Mission has made other plans to start an initiative known as ‘trainer for trainers’. The initiative, which has already been approved by H.E the Ambassador, will seek to train people to become the mouthpiece of the Mission. The training, which will be held in all countries under the Mission, will relate to issues such as knowing the proper way to fill a visa or passport application form, the correct way to endorse a passport picture and other issues of interest. At the end of the training, the trainees are expected to educate other Ghanaians in order to reduce or entirely erase the number of incorrectly filled applications forms that are sent to the embassy. The executives of the various Ghana unions were tasked to find suitable locations for such training.

Awua-Asamoa expressed gratitude to the executives for their visit and assured them that the embassy is fully prepared to work with the various Ghana unions. According to her, diaspora engagement is the priority of both the Ghana government and the Ambassador. She added that her office is willing to assist individuals and unions in addressing their problems when the need arises.
